The Leaders of G8DS to discuss economic cooperation

The leaders of G8DS (G8 developing States) will discuss this Saturday the ways of economic cooperation in the energetic sphere, including nuclear energy.

It is supposed that the participants will sign the so called Bali Declaration, aimed at stimulating economic cooperation inside G8DS. According to Indonesian media, one of the parts of the document will be a resolution prepared in Jakarta and dedicated to the right of developing states for peaceful use of nuclear energy.

The G8DS Group was created in 1997 and consists of Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey. Its main aim is to improve the situation of developing states within the framework of European economic system, to create new possibilities in the trade cooperation, to raise their role in decision making process at the international level and to form better life standards.

In general, the G8DS involves states with the total population of 1 billion people – the majority of Islamic world. Its role arises because of the oil price growth, because most of G8DS members possess wide reserves of “black gold”.

The last G8DS summit was held in Teheran.
