Russia seeking G8 help for CIS members in fight against bird flu
MOSCOW. April 17 (Interfax) - Russia is seeking financial help from G8 in order to help CIS member states counter bird flu, Russian Health and Social Protection Minister Mikhail Zurabov said.
"As president of G8 Russia proposes that a number of international financial projects to fight bird flu be implemented in the CIS countries," Zurabov said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday.
G8 health ministers are to meet in Moscow next week, Zurabov said. The ministers will sign a statement on the fight against infectious diseases, he said.
