MOSCOW, April 18 (Itar-Tass) — It is necessary to restructure the education system on the global scale for ensuring global energy security, Russian presidential aide, Russian Sherpa in the Group of Eight Igor Shuvalov said on Tuesday opening of an international conference of experts of G8 member states devoted to education and skills in an innovation society.
“Energy crisis that the international community may face in the next 10 years is unavoidable without the education system restructuring on the global scale,” Shuvalov said. According to him, Russia is not only major and reliable partner in the energy sphere, but also occupies a leading place in the development of innovation technologies. However, it is necessary to unite above all the efforts of the civil society, power and business in order to ensure better competition on the market.
Issues of ensuring global energy security and improving the quality of education will be discussed at the Group of Eight summit in St. Petersburg in July.
