SHARM AL-SHEIKH. May 21 (Interfax-FIA) - Russia has urged all oil exporting nations to increase aid to countries affected by high prices for oil, Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said.
"We have urged the oil exporting sates to contribute to the mechanism of aiding the poorest nations, affected by the oil price hikes," Kudrin told officials from the G8 group of most industrialized countries, organized under the G8's partnership with the Middle East and North Africa.
Russia has donated an additional 30 million SDRs (special drawing rights) equivalent to $45 million to the anti-shock fund, which provides support to countries, worst affected by the oil price rise and incapable of attaining economic stability on their own. sd
