Moscow, June 14, Interfax - A summit of world religious leaders to be held in Moscow will be in line with the Group of Eight summit in St. Petersburg, Ambassador at Large Yury Isakov said.
"I have no doubt that the event may and will be in line with the atmosphere and the message of the G8 summit," the diplomat said at a press conference on Wednesday.
"Such urgent issues as dialogue, the tolerance of cultures, civilizations and religions" are on the agenda of the religious summit, he said.
"I think this is one of the most vital matters, and those who are not indifferent to the development of civilizations and life on Earth should pay a lot of attention to the issue," he said.
At the same time, he said that Russia is a secular state and all efforts taken by religious leaders within the framework of the summit are their own initiative.
