01.01.70

On the 15th July, the WWF representatives point out the positive tendency in the G8 countries discussion concerning climate change problems.

For the last half a year, I had lots of meetings with Sherpas and people who assist them and we discussed climate problems. And I am glad to see a positive trend, the WWF Climate Change Program coordinator, ALexey Kokorin, said on Saturday.

According top Kokorin, since February up to June there was a huge step from a mere intention to mention the problem at the Summit to actually devote to it a separate paragraph in the final Communiqu.

The last change that I see is that there is a direct point to the so called economical mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol, saying that the countries involved in it are going to apply those mechanisms, Kokorin said.
