Russia’s G8 Presidency organizers praise sherps, NGOs

MOSCOW, March 9. The Organizing Committee of the Russian G8 Presidency has appreciated the Thursday meeting of Russian and international non-government organizations (NPOs) with sherps.

The meeting was an opportunity for the sherps who work at documents covering the main topics of Russia’s G8 Presidency to consider the perspectives of Russian and international civil society leaders during the broad debate on these issues, the Organizing Committee said. In fact, Civil G8 2006 Forum, the gathering of Russian and international NGOs, gave sherps a great expertise capacity to make use of during their March 9-10 Moscow meeting, the Committee added.
