The Science Ministers of G8 to discuss criteria of professional education evaluation.

St Petersburg, May 29, RIA-Novosti, Maxim Nechiporenko.

One of the main questions of the meeting of G8 science ministers will be the elaboration of the criteria of professional education evaluation. This information was presented by the Russian Minister of education and science Andrei Fursenko participating in the All-Russia meeting of the heads of regional institutions for additional pedagogical education in St Petersburg.

“We are not speaking about universal standards in the whole sphere of education. We are trying to reach mutual understanding”, - he stressed.

Andrei Fursenko explained that there is a waste number of educational systems in the world.
“Even the professions having the same name have sometimes different contents, - he said. – That’s why it is very important for us to decide how to compare levels of education in different countries, how to provide confidence to the education in this or that country”.

The participants will also discuss the issues of improving education quality and systems of education for migrants in various countries. These issues will be discussed during the G8 summit.

Russian Science and education Monister also stressed that the meeting of science and education ministers in June 3-4 in St Petersburg will have non-formal nature. It will deal with general problems of education.
