Anjela Merkel: Germany overpasses economic weakness


The German Chancellor Anjela Merkel expressed satisfaction with her government activities. During the press-conference she stressed that Germany overcame economic problems and created a base for further development.

According to A.Merkel, Germany is not more “main sick of Europe”. She said that taking into account the Germany’s role in peacekeeping operations it has an important place in Europe. “Germany is preparing intensively for its presidency in G8 which will start in January, 2007”, - she added.

The federal Chancellor noted that the main issue within the G8 process will be the relations of Germany with African states.

She also said that with a view to the state security the idea of the so-called “White Book” will be discussed in Germany
