The Final Conference of Human Rights Activists is being held in Moscow
The final NGO conference within the framework of the “Civil G8 – 2006” project, dedicated to the realization of the 2006 G8 summit decisions started in Moscow this Saturday. This forum traditionally takes place within the framework of G8 leaders meeting.
During the conference the representatives of 80 NGOs will analyze the results of the St Petersburg summit which was held in July 2006. According to the forum participants the main aim of NGOs is to organize the permanent control over the decisions taken within the G8 leaders summit.
According to the Chair of the Council for human rights and civil institutions development Ella Pamfilova more than 2 thousand NGO participated in the process under Russian presidency in G8. The process invited not only NGOs from G8 countries. The representatives of NGOs from 58 countries participated in it within the period of Russian presidency in G8
