According to the US Ministry if Justice every year 800 via 900 thousand persons all over the world are being sold, bought or illegally exported abroad. Among them there are hundreds of thousands teenagers and children, even 5 y.o. victims pf sex industry.

In 2003 18-20 thousand people were exported to the US. Annually about 20 thousand people are being stolen, kidnapped or illegally transferred from Russia by the way of fraud or trickery.

n 2002 financial year the US government provided 55,8 million dollars for 200 programs of fighting the traffic-in-persons in 75 countries. In February and March 2003 the American authorities transferred 4,6 and 3,5 million dollars accordingly for 22 and 15 NGOs for the fight against traffic-in-persons and the help for the traffic victims.

After the adoption of the “Law Protecting the Traffic Victims” the US department of health and medical services provided T-immigrant visas for more than 400 victims of violence.
