Russia intends to use its presidency in G8-2006 to strengthen its struggle against world terrorism

According to Anatoly Safonov, Vladimir Putin's advisor on international anti-terrorist cooperation, Russia intends to use its presidency in G8-2006 to strengthen its struggle against world terrorism.

"G8 should also contribute considerably to the collective efforts against terrorism, - he added. - Russia as the country presiding in G8-2006 will play the significant role in this process. Russian officials suppose that today we witness a new direction, a new "front" for fighting terrorism - suppression of terrorist propaganda and the struggle against terrorist ideology".
