US Officials Hope the Bilateral Negotiations about Russia’s membership in WTO will end before 2006 G8 Summit in St Petersburg.

According to the US representative within the bilateral negotiations Rob Portman, the Bush administration hopes the negotiations about Russia’s membership in WTO will end before 2006 G8 summit in St Petersburg. He made this statement at the press-conference in Washington where US and Ukraine officials were discussing bilateral protocol on the Ukraine membership in WTO.

Answering the ITAR-TASS Agency question if the Russia and US mutual access to services and goods market is possible, Rob Portman said: “I hope for this”.

The Ukrainian Economy Minister confirmed that the Ukrainian officials support the Russia’s joining the World Trade Organization.
