Khristenko stakes on state agreements on energy market

SKRIN (Russia), Mar 15
When speaking about the energy preparedness, Russia means a system of international guarantees for the country’s role on the world market and protection of its national companies against global competition, Russia’s bureaucrats told the yesterday’s international conference. The conference was dedicated exactly to the energy preparedness and held on the eve of G8 summit of energy ministers that began in Moscow on March 14, 2006.
The exact meaning of energy preparedness was in the center of attention in time of the international conference held in Moscow March 11, 2006. The definition offered by Russia’s Industry and Energy Minister Viktor Khristenko was explicit. “It is vital to improve transparency of the strategy and policy in power engineering and the extent of confidence in the next move,” the minister pointed out. According to Khristenko, an alternative to competition of energy strategies could be “establishing a global system of power engineering, which will ensure the stream deliveries of energy to the population worldwide at the economically reasonable prices.”
Therefore, Russia’s proposals to the G8 summit could be as follows. Russia doesn’t think it is possible to improve the out-of-balance condition of the energy demand/supply through some private companies. Instead, it calls for introducing regulative actions of the state. The biggest consumers and producers of energy resources are expected to provide the state guarantees to each other concerning coordination of mutual interests. The interests of national companies should be naturally taken into account, www.Kommersant.Com said
