The main problem of the Russian NGOs within the preparatory period before the summit in St Petersburg is to organize the discussion of the most important issues and recommendations in social, economic and political sphere. All these issues must be discussed openly at Round tables and NGOs’ meetings and then strictly formulated and recommended for analysis by the G8 members.

The recommendations that the NGOs will be ready to suggest to G8 members should reflect, as a matter of fact, the position of the society, translated through NGOs. That’s why the NGOs responsibility is obviously high.

The NGOs activities after the summit are also very important. It is necessary to organize a civil monitoring over the implementation of all the recommendations issued by the civil society institutions for the heads and governments of the G8 countries. This fact would finally answer the question how solid the basis of the civil society can be. It would also help the voice of the civil society become clearer for all.
