Introduction
Bird flu is a virus infection that can affect all the birds. Most vulnerable of all the poultry are turkeys and chickens. The game bird can be the carriers of diseases. Due to the natural resistance they themselves are not taken ill and can migrate at very long distances. The waterfowl can be considered as responsible for the infection penetration into the housekeeping.
According to the WHO within the period of 2003-2006 161 fact of the bird flu affected humans are mentioned. Among them 86 lethal outcomes are marked. During 2006 the bird flu has disseminated in Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Romania, Turkey and Croatia. These facts witness the change of biological properties of the birds’ viruses and their pathogenic force for humans and birds.
According to the Russian Chief Sanitary Inspector G.Onishenko, to begin with 2004 special actions aimed at the readiness for the flu pandemic in Russia. Particularly, several normative documents dealing with measures aimed at the strengthening anti-flu prophylaxis have been prepared.
In terms of the actions coordination and operational reaction to the situation control territorial organs of the Russian federation closely cooperate and change information about the epizootic and epidemiologic satiation with the organizations responsible for the veterinary control as well as with interested organs of the Russian executive powers.
