The WWF representatives point out that G8 pay more and more attention to the climate problems

On the 15th July, the WWF representatives point out the positive tendency in the G8 countries’ discussion concerning climate change problems.

“For the last half a year, I had lots of meetings with Sherpas and people who assist them and we discussed climate problems. And I am glad to see a positive trend”, the WWF Climate Change Program coordinator, ALexey Kokorin, said on Saturday.

According top Kokorin, since February up to June there was a huge step from a mere intention to mention the problem at the Summit to actually devote to it a separate paragraph in the final Communiqué.

“The last change that I see is that there is a direct point to the so called economical mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol, saying that the countries involved in it are going to apply those mechanisms”, Kokorin said.
